Jano Toussounian was born in Sydney, Australia on January 25 1991. Growing up Jano was always in front of the camera making home videos. In high school Jano chose drama as one of his electives. It was there where he fell deeply in love with acting and decided at a young age he would try to pursue a career as an actor. Later that year he performed in the theatre production of The Theatrical Illusion, playing the role of Matamore. In 2007 he completed various short acting courses around Sydney. The following year Jano completed a Theatre and Screen course at Nirimba Tafe and performed in the theatre productions The Perfect Blend and Somebody to Love. In 2010 and 2011 Jano attended Screenwise Film and Televison School and completed the 2 Year Intensive Course. He was trained by some of Australia’s leading actors and directors including Terry Serio, Gary Sweet, Anthony Wong, Peter Phelps, Dean Francis, Janis McGavin, Alan Flower and many more. In 2011 Jano landed his first role in an Australian feature film called The Unjudged. He played the role of Simon. He also appeared in short films for The Coin, Unfinished Business and Pictures of Anna.

In 2012 Jano flew to Los Angeles for 2 months to complete a few courses. First he trained at the Groundlings, a prestigious improvisational school where many leading actors from Saturday Night Live and MadTV have attended. He said it was a dream come true to study at the Groundlings. Jano also completed a course with Anthony Meindl at the Anthony Meindl Actors Workshop and did voice classes with well-known voice coach Rowena Balos.

Once returning to Australia Jano landed a few commercials, which include Rexona Clinical Protection, Foxtel HD, Nature’s Own: Bananas and Toyota Corolla, Woodside Oil and Origin Energy. He also appeared in a 60 Minutes re-enactment scene for the chilling story of Matthew Milat, nephew of backpacker’s murderer Ivan Milat. He played the role of whistle blower Chase Day.

Jano landed a role in the film Super Awesome! starring Guy Edmonds, Matt Zeremes, Rob Carlton, Alan Flower and Annie Maynard. He will be playing the comical role of Basil Cherry. Jano has now relocated to Los Angeles.

Jano will be appearing on an episode of Supreme Justice with Judge Karen. It will be airing in late November on KCAL-9/CBS, LA56 KDOC TV, Justice Central and WBBZ TV.
